Co. Wicklow Lawn Tennis Club to host Family Fun Open Day

Sunday April 15th from 3.30pm, Vevay Road, Bray

The Co. Wicklow Lawn Tennis Club (CWLTC) will host a Fun Open Day for all the family on Sunday April 15th from 3.30pm.  Situated on the Vevay Road in Bray, the club has been part of the sporting fabric of Bray for over 100 years and recently made its way into the Guinness World Records when club member Sean Rooney achieved 1,158 serves in one hour.

The club will open its doors to families to come along and enjoy an afternoon of fun tennis and see the wonderful facilities the club has to offer. The club caters for players of all ages and standards, from absolute beginners to seasoned league players. On the social side, the club boast a fully licensed clubhouse and a varied calendar of off court entertainment.

You won’t need to be a Pro to enjoy the day on Sunday April 15th, just bring along a racquet and your enthusiasm and try your hand at a game of tennis with our coaches and members. And after the game relax and enjoy some refreshments on us.

The History of Co. Wicklow Lawn Tennis Club

The Club History book “Love All in Dempsey’s Field” is available to buy for €10 from Studio 54 (opposite McDonalds) during their working hours and from behind the Clubhouse bar in the evenings.

The club colours are purple and yellow representing the heather and gorse of the County of Wicklow. The club was established in 1894 .   Our Club crest is based on the official arms of the Town of Bray. Did you know that cricket was once played in our club?  Did you know that rugby was played here too?  An extentive history of the club has being complied and was launched on Thursday 1st  of December 2011 @ 8pm in the clubhouse.

How to apply for membership *** NO joining fee in 2012 ***

The application form must be completed in full (see membership section), detailing the type of membership required and the name(s) of all people involved in the application for membership. All application forms must be signed by two existing members of the Club before it can be accepted for consideration and approval.

Should you be new to the town or surrounds and are not sure if you know any members please use the “contact” section of the website to make contact with us and a committee member will respond as soon as possible.

The application should be posted to the designated Name and Address on the form or handed to a current committee member – applicants are ultimately responsible for their own forms reaching the membership committee as quickly as possible, for processing.
